PTI September 2015 Blog Hop Challenge

Friday, September 25, 2015

Hello there! I am so excited to be participating in Papertrey Ink's September Blog Hop today! Autumn is my favorite season so I fell in love with the inspiration photo Nichole chose for this month.

September Blog Hop Inspiration

I love the chalkboard art along with the wreath of leaves decorating the frame! So pretty!

I started out by die cutting the rounded rectangles and stamping my "chalkboard" with pumpkins, leaves, and the sentiment with white pigment ink. I wanted to add a pop of color so I colored a piece of white card stock in different shades of orange with an ink blending tool. I used it to die cut two leaf silhouettes. For an added touch of detail I wrapped a piece of twine around the top of the panel and tied a bow with a white button.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Fall Elegance, PTI Autumn Adornments
Dies: PTI Leaf Silhouettes, Sizzix Rounded Rectangles
Ink: PTI Fresh Snow, PTI Summer Sunrise, PTI Orange Zest, PTI Terracotta Tile
Paper: PTI True Black, PTI Kraft, PTI Stamper's Select White

Thank you for coming by! I hope your Friday is fabulous!

Merry Christmas to You

Thursday, September 24, 2015

Hi there! It is a little early for a Christmas card as I am not entering this card into a Christmas challenge but I got my PTI September release box in the mail the other day. I couldn't wait to break out my new goodies! I am participating in Freshly Made Sketches. I thought this week's sketch looked so fun!

I die cut most of the pieces first and did all of my stamping on the flag. It came together really quick but I had a little trouble figuring out what I wanted to do with the piece going across the top. At first, I just had a strip of red paper but that looked too plain. I started looking at my patterned paper and I liked the polka dots. I thought it might be too much to use the edger die on the bottom of it but I decided to go for it and I really like it. It adds that little something that was missing.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Deck the Halls
Dies: PTI Deck the Halls, PTI Edgers #3, MFT Die-namics Blueprint 13, MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flag Stax
Ink: PTI Pure Poppy, PTI Scarlet Jewel, PTI Simply Chartreuse, PTI Ripe Avocado
Paper: PTI Pure Poppy, PTI 2008 Bitty Dot Basics, PTI Stamper's Select White

You Mean the World To Me

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

Hello there! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week! The cue word at CASology this week is circles. It seems easy enough but there are so many different possibilities for this week's challenge.

I chose to use circle dies for my card. I die cut the circles and the first part of my sentiment and adhered everything to the card front.  I stamped the second part of my sentiment, trimmed it down, and popped it up with foam tape.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Scripted
Dies: PTI Scripted, MFT Die-namics Pierced Circle Frames
Ink: PTI Autumn Rose
Paper: PTI Autumn Rose, PTI Patterned Paper, PTI Stamper's Select White

Enjoy Your Day

Hi there! Today I made a card for this week's PTI Make It Monday. Danielle showed us how to create two-toned stamped sentiments. Her cards are awesome so I couldn't wait to give this technique a try!

I die cut a piece of black card stock using a diagonal cover plate, decided where I wanted my sentiment to go, and stamped it in versamark ink. I heat embossed with white embossing powder and then stamped the sentiment in black on a piece of white card stock. I die cut and stamped the flowers and leaves. I adhered all the layers and popped up the rest of the sentiment with foam tape. I love how this turned out and I will definitely be using this technique again!

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Wet Paint, PTI Brushed Blooms
Dies: PTI Brushed Blooms, PTI Stripes Diagonal Cover Plate
Ink: Versamark, PTI True Black, PTI Spring Moss, PTI Hawaiian Shores, PTI Tropical Teal
Paper: PTI True Black, PTI Stamper's Select White

Having Some Fun With NBUS

Monday, September 14, 2015

Hi there! Today I am super excited because I am participating in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #5!

For this challenge I used Papertrey Ink's Fashion Sense stamp set. It is from this year's Stamp-a-faire and I love it, but hadn't used it yet.

I went with yellow for my design because I wanted the color to be subtle and let the quote stand out. I cut three layers of card stock, each layer slightly smaller then the one above it. The top layer I also die cut the bottom of to give some interest.

Thank you, Darnell, for this challenge! It gave me an excuse to use this set and I had so much fun making my card!

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Fashion Sense
Dies: PTI Edgers #1
Ink: PTI Lemon Tart
Paper: PTI Lemon Tart, PTI Sheer Basics Vellum Patterned Paper, PTI Stamper's Select White

Thank you for stopping by! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start!

Hello Southwestern Style

Hello there! I love this week's sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch. So simple, but fun!

I love having cards on hand to send to friends, whatever the occasion may be, or just to say hello. I kept this card really simple and got out PTI's Southwestern Style stamp set. I stamped three of the long designs in different colors and then stamped my sentiment above them.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Southwestern Style
Ink: PTI True Black, PTI Lavender Moon, PTI Plum Pudding, PTI Winter Wisteria
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select White

Thanks so much for coming by!

MAKE IT MONDAY #223: CAMOUFLAGED POCKET INSERTS

Sunday, September 13, 2015

Hi there! After watching Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday video this week I was inspired to make my own card with a camouflaged pocked insert. I though it was such a fun idea! I skipped right over autumn with this card and jumped into Christmas. I thought Painted Poinsettias would be awesome to use for this technique and the season is quickly sneaking up on me.

To start off I die cut all of the pieces and then stamped the poinsettias and their leaves. I dry embossed a background panel to adhere the pocket to. I wasn't able to pop the pocket up with foam tape because I didn't have enough room on the sides so I used 1/8 inch scor-tape. I was afraid it would be difficult to get the tag in and out of the pocket but I didn't have any trouble with it.

After I decided the placement of the flowers and leaves, I stamped the sentiment on the tag and adhered the flowers and leaves. The smaller leaf is adhered to the pocket itself because I wanted to give dimension to the flowers and not the leaves.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Painted Poinsettias
Dies: PTI Painted Poinsettias, PTI Basic Bookmark 1, Sizzix Squares
Ink: PTI Pure Poppy, PTI Sweet Blush, PTI Scarlet Jewel, PTI Spring Moss, PTI Ripe Avocado, PTI Pinefeather
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select White, PTI Pure Poppy, PTI Sweet Blush

Thank you so much for coming by! I hope you had a great weekend!
