Thankful For You

Hi there! Today I thought I'd share a card and notepad I made with Papertrey Ink's Turning a New Leaf patterned paper pad. I have barely been able to put it down since I got it. I love the color palette with the greens, cream, and brown. So pretty!

Originally I had made these separately but when I put them next to each other I loved them paired up. I gave this set to my sister-in-law. She's my partner in crafting (along with my oldest niece) and I am thankful for her and all the time we've spent crafting together the past few weeks.

I made the notepad first. The jacket is chocolate brown card stock and for the background I paired leafy paper with green card stock that I embossed with a striped embossing folder. Where those two pieces of card stock came together I tied a brown and white gingham ribbon and finished with a doily I cut to fit the notepad.

Next, I made the card. The base is cream card stock. Atop I placed a piece of patterned paper and a lattice embossed piece of light green card stock. I then stamped leaves, flowers, and the sentiment onto a piece of cream card stock. I cut a doily to start from the embossed paper and fit under the sentiment.

I had so much fun making this set! Thank you for stopping by!

Hello Autumn

Monday, August 18, 2014

Hi there! In an effort to stay ahead this year I got out my autumn project box while crafting with my sister-in-law and niece last week. Autumn is my favorite season so I am very excited to share my cards with you today!

This first card started my obsession over the Paper Studios leaf embossing folder. I paired the orange embossed card stock and orange and white chevron paper together to create my background. On top of that I place a strip of burnt orange card stock. I die cut a piece of cream card stock and stamped a pumpkin and the sentiment.

I loved making this card even though it's pretty simple. The cool thing about it is that my sister-in-law pointed out to me that I stamped two pumpkins and the sentiments says "When I count my blessings I count you twice". I wasn't thinking about that, and I love when things work out that way.

This card continued my obsession with the leaf embossing folder as I used it on the red card stock I used for the background. For a layered effect I cut a piece of kraft card stock a little bit wider than the leaf patterned paper. Atop that I die cut a scalloped circle in burnt orange and stamped a border and sentiment on a cream circle.

This card is a bit different than many of my other cards but I think it came out cute. The background is kraft card stock with autumn plaid paper on top and orange paper that I punched leaves out of on the bottom. I adhered some of the punched out leaves and acorns to the plaid paper. I stamped the sentiment in orange ink onto cream card stock and rounded the corners. I adhered that to the plaid background and added an orange glitter strip to finish my card.

This card is one of my favorites that I have ever done. I did a layered background with a piece of orange plaid paper over orange card stock. A leaf embossed piece of orange card stock over a piece of burnt orange card stock creates a second layer on the left side of the card. I stamped Happy Thanksgiving on a strip of cream card stock and adhered an orange gem on either side of the sentiment.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed looking at my cards as much I loved making them!

Mojo Monday 359

Hello! I loved playing along with Mojo Monday last week so I decided to see what the sketch for this week looks like. I immediately came up with an idea for a card.

This is the sketch:

And this is my card:

I chose a light green for the background paper, two different patterned papers to layer with, and I stamped the circle with different leaves and added my sentiment. I cut a doily to place below the sentiment.

Atop that I added a dark green strip of card stock with a cream double ended banner finished off with cream and green striped twine. I had a great a time making this card. Thank you for coming by!

Mojo Monday 358

Wednesday, August 13, 2014

Hi there! This week while looking through card sketches on Pinterest I discovered Mojo Monday. I really liked this week's card sketch and I wanted to make a birthday card for my husband's aunt so this is what I came up with.

I embossed the background with dots on top and stripes on the bottom. I die cut a long strip and scalloped strip of paper to adhere to my background. On top of that I placed a purple piece of card stock and die cut flowers and leaves to go over the double ended banner.

For the center of the card I stamped a flower background with various stamps and in black ink I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment on top of the background. I really enjoyed making this card and I hope my husband's aunt loves it. Thank you for stopping by!

PTI MAKE IT MONDAY #175: Creative Card Borders Using Non-Border Dies

Monday, August 4, 2014

Hi! Today I got inspired by PTI's Make it Monday #175: Creative Card Borders Using Non-Border Dies.

Summer is going to be over soon so I thought I would pull out my PTI Flipping Out stamp set and dies. First, I die cut the flip flops out of the side of a piece of white card stock. Then I cut the white card stock down to fit the size of my card. Next, I stamped the flips flops, flowers for the flips flops, and the happy summer sentiment. I chose lighter blue and yellow card stock to place on the left side of the card front and I also used those colors to die cut the flip flop straps.

For the inside of my card I stamped the relax and enjoy your day sentiment and adhered pieces of the lighter blue and yellow card stock to the right of the sentiment.

My Supplies:
                                                             Stamps: PTI Flipping Out
                                                             Dies: PTI Flipping Out
Paper: Michael's Recollection 110 lb white card stock
Michael's Recollection 65 lb colored card stock

Thanks for coming by! Have a wonderful day!
