Hello With May Flowers

Wednesday, May 27, 2015

Hi there! For my second post today I had more fun in my craft room and created a card for this week's Simon Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes. I don't have any Avery Elle products but I still wanted to participate so I took my inspiration from the new challenge at StampNation and will be sharing my card there as well.

I started by stamping the sentiment onto a white card stock panel. I then die cut the sentiment with a PTI Mat Stack die and dry embossed the panel. I die cut some flowers and stamped them. I adhered the die cut to my card front and then used foam tape to add dimension to the panel. To finish I adhered the flowers to the white panel.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Gracious Greetings, PTI Bitty Bouquets
Dies: PTI Mat Stack 4, PTI Bitty Bouquets
Ink: PTI True Black, PTI Melon Berry, PTI Hibiscus Burst, PTI Spring Moss
Paper: PTI Stampers Select White

Thank you for coming by! I hope your week is awesome!

Have a Merry Little Christmas (in May)

Hello there! I got to play most of the afternoon in my craft room which was super fun because I have my niece for a few days. I made a card for this month's Happy Little Stampers: CAS Challenge and the theme is die cuts/punches.

I started by die cutting the background and then die cut a circle out of it. I die cut the wreaths, the flag, and the bow. I stamped the sentiment onto the flag and then adhered everything to the card front. You can't see it in the picture but there are bitty polka dots on the vellum wreath layer.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Rustic Wreath
Dies: PTI Rustic Wreath, PTI Keep It Simple Frames, PTI Tinsel & Tags bow, MFT Die-namics Blueprints 13, Sizzix Circles
Ink: PTI Pure Poppy
Paper: PTI Stampers Select White, PTI Pure Poppy, PTI Sheer Basics Vellum

Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop Challenge

Monday, May 25, 2015

Hi there! I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day! My husband and I took our time getting up, did a few things around the house, and then grilled burgers. Now it's raining and we're waiting for 500 Questions to start! I am participating in this month's PTI Blog Hop and the inspiration photo is all about color.

Blog Hop Inspiration

I waited to make my card until I got my May release box so I could use this new stamp set Southwestern Style designed by Maile Belles. I love the tribal images and though they would be fun to use with rainbow colors. I began by stamping the sentiment I wanted to use on a piece of masking paper and trimmed it down. I began my stamping at the top of the card stock and worked my way down with the colors I chose. I removed the masking paper, stamped my sentiment, adhered the front panel to piece of black card stock, and then adhered both layers to the card front.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Southwestern Style
Ink: PTI Melon Berry, Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Lemon Tart, Spring Moss, Blueberry Sky, Winter Wisteria
Paper: PTI White Stamper's Select, Recollections black

Focus on Flowers

Tuesday, May 12, 2015

Hi there! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week! Today I am thrilled to be the guest designer at the City Crafter Challenge Blog (CCCB)! This week's challenge is "Focus on Flowers" and we were given the following photo for inspiration.

I took my inspiration from the white flowers with yellow centers but instead of having white flowers I chose to stamp them in shades of yellow leaving the centers white. For the background I used a chevron cling stamp with the same darker shade of yellow. After I stamped it, I cut it down to the size I wanted, arranged my die cuts the way I wanted them, and then adhered everything down. The flower blooms are popped up on foam tape to add some interest and dimension.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Brushed Blooms, PTI Tag-its #3, MFT BG Fine Chevron Background
Dies: PTI Brushed Blooms, PTI Keep It Simple Frames, MFT Die-namics Stitched Rectangle Frames
Ink: PTI True Black, PTI Lemon Tart, PTI Harvest Gold, PTI Spring Moss, PTI Ripe Avocado
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select White

Thank you so much for coming by today! I hope you enjoyed my card!

CASE With Yellow & Gray

Saturday, May 9, 2015

Hello! For my second post today I made a card for two separate challenges. I used the sketch from
with the colors of the inspiration photo from Fusion.

I love yellow and gray together so much and I thought those colors would go great with the sketch. I knew what colors I wanted to do for the banners and that I wanted to stamp the bottom one to add some interest but I wasn't sure what stamp set I was going to use. I, at first, thought I wanted to use flowers like in the sketch but as I was looking through my dies PTI's Be Happy caught my eye. I die cut all my pieces, stamped the bottom banner and the butterflies, and adhered everything to a white panel. I then adhered the white panel to a piece of Lemon Tart card stock cut slightly larger than the white panel and slightly smaller than the card front. When I folded up the butterflies to give them some dimension creases formed in the center of them. I didn't like that so I used some yellow sequins to hide it. While I had my sequins out I also decided to put a few silver ones around the banners.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Be Happy, PTI Mega Mixed Messages
Dies: PTI Be Happy, MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flag Stax
Ink: PTI Lemon Tart, Memento Dew Drop London Fog
Paper: PTI White Stamper's Select, PTI Lemon Tart, Recollections light gray, Recollections white card stock
Other: Pretty Pink Posh sequins Lemon Drop & Metallic Silver

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you're having a great weekend!

Hello Friend

Hi there! Yesterday I made a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. The theme for this week's challenge is Get Sentimental and to use Tim Holtz products if you have them. I did a bunch of experimenting with smooshing and distress inks last weekend so I had the perfect background ready to go!

I recently purchased Blueprints #13 from My Favorite Things and I used the large stitched die to trim the watercolor card stock. I stamped the sentiment in versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I hate that the d on the end of friend got messed up while I was heat setting it but I love the background so much that I decided not to worry about it.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Wet Paint
Dies: MFT Die-namics Blueprints 13
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed
Paper: Ranger Distress Watercolor Card Stock, Recollections white card stock

How Are You?

Tuesday, May 5, 2015

Hi there! For my second post this evening I made a card for this week's CASology challenge.

This week's cue word is shape and I knew I wanted to use hearts. After a couple tries with a different design I decided to keep it super simple. I pulled out Papertrey Ink's Noted stamp set and stamped the How are you? sentiment and then stamped a few hearts around it. I love how quick this card was to make.

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Noted
Ink: PTI True Black, PTI Pure Poppy

Dashing Through the Snow

Hi friends! For my first post this evening I am participating in this week's Merry Monday challenge.

I chose dry embossing and used a Sizzix snowflake embossing folder for the background panel. I cut the front panel into two separate pieces and popped them up on foam tape. Once those were attached to my card front I adhered a snow drift with the sentiment stamped on it and  the die cut sleigh. I kept it simple just using black and white. Thank you for stopping by!

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI In the Meadow
Dies: PTI In the Meadow
Ink: PTI True Black
Paper: PTI White Stamper's Select, Recollections Black

It's ok to cry over spilled coffee

Monday, May 4, 2015

Hi there! Today I thought I'd participate in a challenge I hadn't before: Retro Sketches.

After a long day and hours spent on a card that ended up in the trash can, I went to my nephew's t-ball game. After getting love from my nieces, I came home, took a shower, and told myself to relax and take my time. The above card is the result and it came together quickly and easily, I started off by choosing a couple stamp sets and the colors I wanted to use. I cut all my pieces, chose where I wanted the coffee cup to go, and masked it off. I stamped the circles and then flicked ink spritzed with water onto the paper with a paint brush. When it was dry I peeled off the mask and stamped the cup. To finish I adhered everything to my card front. Thank you for coming by!

My Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Drips and Dribbles, PTI Candy Cane Christmas
Dies: MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flag Stax
Ink: PTI Plum Pudding, PTI Classic Kraft, PTI Fine Linen
Paper: PTI White Stamper's Select, PTI Plum Pudding, PTI Sheer Basics Vellum

Watercolor, Butterflies & Anything Goes

Friday, May 1, 2015

Hello there! Yesterday I did some experimenting with distress inks and smooshing. I love this technique and how quick it is to do. Today I made a card using one of the backgrounds I created yesterday.

To create my background, I started by spreading Picked Rasberry and Seedless Preserves distress inks onto my Ranger craft sheet. I spritzed both colors with water and added them to my paper using a paint brush. I do have some Ranger distress watercolor card stock but for this I used PTI's Stamper's Select and I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. It warped some at first but I used my heat tool to speed up the drying time and it helped to flatten the card stock back out. Today I finished my card by adding a die cut butterfly and flag banner on which I stamped my sentiment.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
