A Holiday Hello

Saturday, November 2, 2019

Hi there! Today I made for this week's Freshly Made Sketches and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenges.

For this card, I started by trimming a piece of patterned paper and a piece of white card stock. I die cut a scalloped border on one side of the white card stock. I die cut three snowflakes of three different sizes and layered them. You can see all that well in the pictures but the largest and smallest snowflakes were die cut from white glitter card stock. I stamped the sentiments and trimmed them down. Last, I adhered everything to an A2 white card base.

My Supplies:
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas
Dies: Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders, Simon Says Stamp Bliss Snowflake, My Favorite Things Let It Snowflake
Ink: Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy

Happy Fall Y'all!

Thursday, October 10, 2019

Hi there! I hope everyone is having a great day! Today I am the guest designer at CASE this Sketch.

For this card, I started by die cutting the kraft card stock panel. I stamped the small middle pumpkin with Versamark ink and heat set it with gold embossing powder. I cut a mask to put over it while I stamped the two larger pumpkins on either side of the small pumpkin. I also heat set them with gold embossing powder. I colored in my images and a shadow below the pumpkins with Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils. For the sentiment I stamped and embossed the small sentiment strips. For the 'fall' I swiped a piece of ivory card stock with Versamark ink and heat set it with gold embossing powder and die cut it. The outline is die cut from ivory card stock.

So Happy You're My Friend

Sunday, September 8, 2019

Hi there! Today I am sharing a card that I created for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenges.

To start this card I chose a couple different patterned papers to die cut the circles from. I decided I didn't want a plain white background so I die cut a panel from light gray card stock. I die cut the leaves next and originally I was only going to go with the darker green leaves. I die cut more from the lighter, brighter green and I really like the pop of color it adds. Next I stamped my sentiment and die cut it with a small oval die. I adhered everything to the card front and finished by adding a few clear sequins.

My Supplies:
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp Sketched Flowers
Dies: My Favorite Things Blueprints 13, My Favorite Things Circle Stax Set 1, Papertrey Ink Branching Out, Sizzix Word Labels
Ink: Simon Says Stamp Intense Black
Paper: Vicki Boutin Mixed Media, My Favorite Things Limelight & Field Day, Papertrey Ink Soft Stone & Stamper's Select White
Embellishments: Honey Bee Stamps Clear Iridescent Sequins

Thank you for coming by! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Sending Waves of Love

Thursday, June 13, 2019

Hi there! Today I have a card that I created for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I love this sketch and I already had an idea for a card to make with some new products I bought. I just had to tweak my design a little to go with the sketch.

I started this card by ink blending a background using three different shades of blue distress oxide ink. When it was dry I used Versamark ink to stamp a waves background stamp and heat embossed with gold glitter embossing powder. I stamped the sentiments with the darkest shade of the distress oxide ink. To finish, I adhered the waves panel and die cut anchor to the card front and then popped up the sentiment strips.

My Supplies:
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp Waves Background, Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words
Dies: Simon Says Stamp Anchor
Ink: Versamark, Distress Oxide in Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch
Paper: Strathmore Bristol Smooth, Papertrey Ink White Stamper's Select

Because It's Your Birthday

Tuesday, June 11, 2019

Hi there! Today I have a card that I created for CAS(E) this Sketch and Seize the Birthday.

I began by stamping and coloring six butterflies. I wasn't careful with the coloring. I just scribbled one color on each butterfly. I die cut the butterflies and the scalloped panel. To add a little interest to the panel I masked the edges and flicked the colors I used for the butterflies onto it. I laid out the butterflies how I wanted them to fit on the panel and then stamped the sentiment. To finish, I adhered the panel to the card base and then the butterflies to the panel.

My Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts New Day Butterflies, Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Birthday
Dies: Hero Arts New Day Butterflies, Honey Bee Stamps Scallop A2
Ink: Versafine Onyx, Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers in Geranium Red, Orange, Yellow, Emerald Green, Persian Blue, Violet, and Light Gray

Let Your Dreams Set Sail

Monday, June 10, 2019

Hi there! Today I have a card that I made for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

To make this card I started by trimming down a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock and then stamping the images I wanted to use. I couldn't wait to use this new stamp set! I used a few colors of Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to water color the boat image and shade the clouds. I felt like it needed something more so I added some silver stickles to the corners of the sails and the clouds. To create the background piece I used distress oxide ink and a diagonal striped stencil and then trimmed it down. I finished by adhering the background piece to the card front and then popping up the front piece with foam tape.

My Supplies:
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp Your Light
Ink: Versafine Onxy Black, Distress Oxide Black Soot, Zig Clean Color Real Brush in Geranium Red, Yellow, Light Blue, Persian Blue, and Light Gray
Paper: Strathmore Bristol Smooth, Papertrey Ink White Stamper's Select

Happy Blooming Birthday!

Sunday, April 7, 2019

Hello there! Tonight I am sharing a card that I made for this week's Seize the Birthday challenge.

I received the Simon Says Stamp April card kit the other day and when I was looking through the patterned paper I knew it would be perfect for this challenge's topping which is "Spring".

Y'all, patterned paper scares me. I don't really use it except for a little piece here or there or a background behind a panel so making this card was something new for me.

I started by cutting the "Happy Bloomng Birthday!" sentiment from the patterned paper. From another piece of the patterned paper I used my paper trimmer to cut the light wood grain pieces. Then I trimmed a piece of the flowered patterned paper with the green background. Using a border die I cut two borders and adhered them on either side of the flowered paper. I adhered all of those pieces to my card front. I finished by making the sentiment piece into a tag by punching a hole in the top, adding a piece of white ribbon, and wrapping some twine around it. I made the bow separately and glued it on with some Glossy Accents.

My Supplies:
Dies: Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders
Paper: Simple Stories Spring Farmhouse double sided papers, SSS Ivory, PTI White Stamper's Select

Be Still and Know

Saturday, April 6, 2019

Hello there! Today I have a card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge.

I started this card by die cutting the cross shape out of gray, white, yellow, green, and purple card stock. I used a stitched rectangle die to die cut the gray panel. I taped the edges and used a stencil to create the diagonal stripes on the panel. I didn't have the ink color that matches the card stock I used so I found a distress oxide ink that matched pretty well. I used a sheet of double sided adhesive to adhere the panel to a piece of fun foam. I inlaid the white cross outline into the panel and then inlaid pieces from the colored card stock into the white piece. For the cross, I used the gray card stock and white heat embossed my sentiment onto it. I then adhered the gray panel to a white card base.

My Supplies:
Stamps: SSS Tiny Words Faith
Dies: SSS Outline Floral Cross, MFT Blueprints 13
Ink: Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke, Versamark
Paper: SSS Smoke Gray, SSS Green Apple, MFT Daffodil, MFT Pure Plum, PTI White Stamper's Select
Other: SSS Diagonal Stripe Stencil, Brutus Monroe Alabaster White Embossing Powder

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you're having a great weekend!

You Are So Kind

Monday, March 25, 2019

Hi there! Today I made a card for this week's Color Throwdown.

I started by die cutting the heart shape out of red, yellow, and green card stocks. I then used the same heart die to die cut the panel for my card front. I popped all the pieces out of the white panel and inlaid those areas with pieces from the colored card stock. The sentiment die I used has both the sentiment and an outline so I die cut the outline out of velum and the sentiment out of red card stock. I stamped a smaller sentiment on a piece of white card stock and popped it up with foam tape. To finish, I added a few red rhinestones and popped the panel up on a white card base.

My Supplies:

Stamps: SSS Tiny Words
Dies: SSS Filigree Heart, SSS Script Hello
Ink: PTI Pure Poppy
Paper: PTI White Stamper's Select, PTI Pure Poppy, PTI Harvest Gold, PTI Spring Moss
